01 · Technology
Monopressocottura
Glazes and ceramic bodies, previously spray-dried, are joined by interpenetration through dry pressing. A single firing cycle at temperatures above 1,200 °C completes the process.
The technical section reveals what happens inside the tile: the glaze, the interpenetration zone between glaze and body, and the ceramic body.

Monopressocottura is the process that identifies Appiani ceramic mosaic. What changes is the ceramic body, selected according to the aesthetic and technical result sought for each collection.

Fine porcelain stoneware
For selected collections Appiani uses fine porcelain stoneware, chosen to enhance the rendering of colours, surfaces and textures.
Body 03
Full Body
The body is coloured throughout: colour belongs to the tile body itself and becomes an integral part of the ceramic material.
03 · Tile anatomy
Precise geometry, regular surface.
Appiani technical documentation highlights flatness, perpendicular sides and a slight rounding of the glazed surface. The regular geometry contributes to surface continuity and a pleasant tactile feel.

05 · Formats and mounting
Mosaic as a system.
Tiles are supplied pre-mounted on fibreglass mesh sheets of approximately 30 × 30 cm. The technical documentation shows the main dimensional configurations and their corresponding joints.
The drawing makes the scale, modularity and spacing of the tiles immediately readable.
